    London: Longmans, Green, 1917, 32 pages. First Edition. Illustrated throughout with photographs. Black title on light blue wraps. In very good condition with tight binding and clean pages. Hill, who was the Keeper of the Department of Coins and Medals at the British Museum discusses the use of the Germans during the war to produce medals with the aim of influencing the minds of neutrals and of maintaining enthusiasm for the war within her own borders. By his estimate, they struck at least 580 different varieties of which this pamphlet pictures 17. They include such subjects as the Bismarck medal, the Allied Powers, the Wooing of the Baltic Kings, American Neutrality, a Zeppelin Raid on London, the German Crown Prince, Grand-Admiral von Tirpitz, etc.
