Verso autographed and inscribed Elliott and Fry of London carte de visite photograph to the French painter, Jenny Richomme.  c. 1860’s.
Gounod's "Faust" remains one of the most performed operas in the repertory, with “Romeo and Juliette” also a repertory staple.  His other works, with the exception of “Ave Maria” and “Funeral March of a Marionette” have suffered by comparison.  His other works include two wonderful symphonies, chamber music, cantatas, operas, solo piano, songs, motets and masses.
A fine example of the French composer!
Simply the finest autographed photograph we have seen of the composer and a very interesting dedication.
