    Description

Rare original dual autographed 5" x 7" photograph of the husband & wife flute and harp duo.
Libuše Váchalová (1932 - 2019) was a Czech harpist and music pedagogue, mother of harpist and music pedagogue Jana Boušková and aunt of harpist Barbora Váchalová .
She learned to play the harp at fourteen, first studying privately and later studying at the conservatory. After graduating from the Conservatory in 1952, she worked as a piano accompanist at the Prague City Theaters , and performed on the harp with the flautist Václav Žilka . In 1959 she became a member of the Film Symphony Orchestra . At that time she created another musical duo with oboist František Hanták, with whom she performed for ten years. Since 1969 Libuše Váchalová performed with her husband, flautist Jiří Boušek. Libuše Váchalová's repertoire contained all the major works of harp literature in a wide variety of genres, including popular music. She also inspired many Czech and foreign composers to write dozens of solo and chamber works, which she subsequently premiered.
She is a well-known music teacher who taught at the Prague and Tokyo Conservatoires , at the Music University in Warsaw and at the University of Ostrava.
